How do ride requests work?

Last Updated: Mar 10, 2014 01:08PM PDT
How are rider requests sent out or dispatched?
Requests are automatically sent out to the nearest, available drivers based on your GPS data. Riders can choose if they want a Personal ride with personal drivers, a Taxi ride with taxi drivers, or a ride from Both

How may drivers receive a request?
Normally, ride requests will go out to three drivers at once. If you are an exclusive driver, you will be the only driver to exclusively receive the request, and have priority over a normal driver nearby. For example, if a normal driver and an exclusive driver are of equal distance to a request, the exclusive driver will receive it first. Then, the three nearest normal drivers if the exclusive driver misses it.

How long do I have to accept a request?
Once you receive a Summon request, you have 15 seconds to accept it. If you do not get the entire alotted 15 seconds, it is either because (1) another driver accepted it first, or (2) the rider cancelled the request. If you do not have the chance to accept the ride, or if you get an error message when trying to accept the ride, then your reliability rate will not be negatively affected, nor will your eligibility for guaranteed hours be affected.
